— Belmont General Store Vision Statement

The Belmont General Store was founded in 1843 in the heart of Belmont village, serving as a cornerstone of local life in the rural community. Over two hundred years later the general store still strives to carry that spirit! Good community and good food is what we are passionate about!

Michael and Alissa Chronert purchased the store in 2023. Alissa has been coming up to Belmont with her family every summer and winter since she was very young to her families cabin. When she graduated college and moved to New York, she started coming back up almost every weekend to enjoy all the state has to offer.

When the store closed in 2022 and went on the market, Alissa couldn’t stop thinking about the beautiful building. The General Store always had a special place in her heart, with many memories of eating burgers and ice cream!

They were getting married that summer and had a desired to reopen the store as soon as possible after being closed for the winter season. However, after starting some renovations to the store and building we quickly realized we would need more time to get ready. We needed more time to fix the building and a few other life events happened along the way.
